Odd to think that believing in the things Jesus Christ said and did should scare people away but it does. And is it any surprise?
Plenty of horrific deeds done over the centuries in his name. The Church, for one. One needs to keep perspective.
These human atrocities were and are of no fault of Jesus Christ. Trying to practice God's Love as He described IS
the big challenge. To unconditionally love non-stop, even your enemy? Yikes... but that's 'one thing' which
makes Christ the greatest radical of all. So by following Jesus to the best of one's human ability in
grace and trusting faith, not "good works" alone, we see the slow but surely real transformation
take place in our hearts. This then begins to reflect in those around us one day at a
time. That makes me a potential radical and I thank God for that.

Getting sober & clean via the divinely inspired AA 12-step program in October 1989 {relapsing 8/26/91 then back in
by the Grace of God August 27th 1991} had a major impact on everything in Laurence's life. Goes without saying.
Finally taking the 3rd step in 1994 was a profound experience and then, years later, coming to Christ June 25th 2006
has made perfect sense along this journey. This too caused a major shift forwards. The decision came about at the
Vineyard Church of Ann Arbor with his involvement on their worship team with Mike Brooks as worship pastor.
Having written and recorded a handful of songs, mostly originals, I considered forming a faith-based
band by the summer of 2007, instead joining an established group that played contemporary
Christian covers. It was a new experience and one I enjoyed very much.
I finished the songs I'd recorded by 2011 and released a solo CD
entitled 'AWAKE IN YOU' by the end of that year.
