Tinn Parrow and his Clapfold Platune went into Ann Arbor's BIG SKY August 18th 2025
and recorded six original whole-tonal spazz-jazz tunes. These were then overdubbed
and mixed at The Sanctuary that Autumn. Five of the Six Tunes made the first small
run of forty, 33rpm 7" vinyl EP's. And yes, they're already selling like pancakes.
Meanwhile, Laurence has been working like mad on two new Solo Collections.

Music-hall-pop-psychedelic-jazz by Tinn Parrow & Company a.k.a. Laurence Bond Miller, one of the most prolific musicians in Washtenaw County history. The man has made everything from psychedelic rock, children's music, noise to free jazz, modern classical and new wave over the past 55-pus years.
MY GYMNASIUM MUSEUM is in the spirit of the 2023 compilation by MILLER TWINS Early Compositions 1973-1976, which featured experimental chamber jazz and 20th-century classical music, but no - There's so much pop on this album— left-field-off-the-wall, atypical, nonintuitive pop, but undeniably catchy—alongside more Dada-esque excursions.
The Beatles at their most orchestral in a collision with kaleidoscopic circus-jazz music. Even Bonzo Dog's music-hall psychedelia, jazz background, and humorous bent are present in these Tinn Parrow compositions (some dating back to when Miller was 18 years old, the same year as The 1st Ann Arbor Ozone Homecoming Parade).
Miller's varied and prolific output makes it hard to "rank," and if you have an adventurous ear, you'll likely find something to enjoy in his vast catalog of music. But as someone who has listened to a ton of Miller's work over the past five years, My Gymnasium Museum is at the top of the list for me. It fully captures Miller's brilliance with composition and harmony, his surrealist humor, and deeply embedded ability to balance weird hooks and controlled anarchy.

THE FOURTH WORLD QUARTET released two collections on Cuneiform Records a few years back, both recorded in 1975.
The 1st was released in 2021 and the second in 2022 meeting rave reviews. Laurence and identical twin brother
Ben were so inspired by this that they then practiced and recorded 30 other compositions of theirs from those
daze, along with a few other musicians contributing tracks as well. To everyone's joyful astonishment,
Cuneiform Records went ahead and released that mammoth batch in July 2023
under the name MILLER TWINS Early Compositions (1973-76).
Laurence then formed TINN PARROW and his CLAPFOLD PLATUNE to push the vision further.
This new, seven-piece little 'big band' began rehearsing in March 2023 learning many
of those same compositions plus brand new material. 2024 marked the year
that The Platune began performing out into the world at large.
Their 1st CD release, AN EVOLUTIONARY RETROSPECT sports 15 tunes,
drawn from their private batch of rehearsals & 'live' shows. Hard copies are
available from the stage at their performances in S.E. Michigan.
MY GYMNASIUM MUSEUM
Tinn Parrow & Co.
Recorded November 2022 thru October 2024
MY GYMNASIUM MUSEUM is another mammoth recording project, pulled from the inspiring heels of Cuneiform Records'
release of MILLER TWINS 'Early Compositions'. This one involved many of his Platune Mates as well as other
local luminaries from the Detroit Metro area. The idea was to bring to life new compositions Laurence had
composed, specifically for his new 'little big band' while reinventing old gems from decades
earlier. Some of these newer pieces weren’t fully realized yet, thus well served over
the course of this hefty two year multi-track 20 tune recording process.
Laurence is pleased as punch he picked up the ‘clarinet
family’ again, after hibernating without this
reed family for nearly five
decades. He thanks Cuneiform Records and the twelve musicians
who took the time
to take-the-time to help him create this imaginative magnum opus.
