Miller dabbled with art in his youth.  Scribbly two-dimensional abstract designs and color drawings using whatever was in reach (pencil or pen), and always executed under the influence. Since 2007, now long since sober & clean, Miller has been re-rendering the most inspired of these on a larger scale, primary using water color. In 2010 he began to paint new works as well.

Laurence loosely refers to his style as "Botanical Script" and is quick to admit, though highly inspired, is in fact an amateur with no formal training. In 2010 he began an extended coop project with his twin brother, Benjamin Miller, called THE COLOR OF WATER.  Laurence videotaped his painting process using an arial camcorder mount, edited the raw footage in a surreal visual presentation, adding Benjamin's multiphonic soundtrack.
